Pick up the car tomorrow, just have to wait for it to dry properly and have the speaker pods buffed.

Here's some picks of the dash completed. The iPhone holder is much better dropped lower, the base is more contoured. It could have been lower still with a small ridge over the pug to look better, but we'll see how it goes.

Finally, I get to see the completed door pods. Very nice I think. I like the way they don't impede on the leg room, you can see from the first pic, they are almost zero intrusion. The angles work well and the contours are fairly stock-ish.

Facinating to watch the job unfold - the beauty is its designed to suit your personal requirements...very impressed.

Perhaps theres a market for someone to advertise the upgrades you've done to the car...?

absolutley love what you have done here man!
im in the process of sorting everything out for mine too, as the cd player has just broken. :(
with the G4, did you purchase it online from mp3car.com? i couldn't work out if the prices were in american dollars or aussie...
and i hate to be rude, but im sure its the number one question on everyones mind, how much (ball park) would something like this all cost?!!
Im up in QLD and am trying to find someone to do the install and fabrication etc.... so if anyone knows of someone with as much attention to detail, i'd love a contact number or something.
thanks heaps in advance,
sj

I had all the components except for the G4.

The G4 was about $3k from a local install shop, they are supplied by infill australia distributors and came bundled with centrafuse XLE (a great software for this task).

The install was about $4k - there was a lot of mods and fiddly stuff, custom iphone holder, fibreglassing, etc.

hey mate, im in canberra too and have a black one with 20" chromies. went and saw pat at super car audio installations about getting a dvd player fitted, he said the easier way of doing it is to buy a fascia kit like you did, can you tell me where you got it from? your help will be much appreciated, thanks.

It's a kanatechs pack.

Absolutely a MUST for the RX8 install.

The reason is, as you would know, the radio in the RX8 is built in one piece with the aircon. If you lose the radio, you lose the aircon.

I got the fascia and aircon controller replacement as a kit direct from Kanatechs in Japan.

The only issue is, Pat had to do a fair rework on the fascia, it comes as a ultra-wide hole (to suit old style radios) with crappy plastic fillers. He had to glue/bog/sand/repaint and everything to make it fit properly. But the aircon controller was worth it.
