Lorne Inland Route! Better than the great ocean road!

Post by Bonzo_1 » Fri Jul 05, 2013 6:02 pm

Hey everyone!

I see the great ocean road has already been mentioned, but there actually exists a better, more challenging route which takes you through Winchelsea to Lorne. The speed limit varies from 80- 100 with a LOT of tight turns (60km/hr, 50km/hr, 40km/hr, 30km/hr turns) which I find much more fun to drive on than the great ocean ride and is definitely worth a drive the next time you head out that way! I take this route every single time :D

Check it out, you won't be dissapointed :thumbleft:

Deans-marsh rd is great, usually pretty quiet to! those orange speed signs are only suggested ;)

The GOR is good for a nice relaxed cruise tho, the bits just before and after lorne are the most fun.

I cut inland also (too many asian tourists these days) I usually come out the back or skenes creek or go a bit further down and go through lavers hill.
