I was really contemplating doing this conversion as i had a single turbo fd rx7 before my rx8, but opted for rebuilding the renesis to handle boost!

Can't wait to see your car! Heard so many good things! What PSI are you running with the renesis opposed to what you where running in your FD?

Sorry to hear the bad news. That is a fear that we all hold, I just hope mine dies in my driveway.

What plans do you have for your new engine?

You hold high hopes there skc ;)

Not sure on the engine atm, the parts from atkins and racing beat should turn up this week, my housings/rotors/e-shaft etc are still on a boat from canada, so I am thinking of pulling the engine out and trying to make one engine out of all the parts I have laying around, I don't really want to rush the new engine as I want it to be perfect, it will take me some time to port it and clearance all the seals, not something I want to rush through :|

Looks like you have done a bit of home work in this matter.

I would look into the cooling modifications that Pettit and Mazmart do in thier engines. You can send your iorns to Extreme rotaries and select the improvments you want over the stock items. The other big decision is which apex seals you decide on. Most will agree that ceramic seals are the best option.

After it has been put together then it is also a good idea to have the whole assembly balanced. I do not have the skills or the tools to put a rotary engine together, good luck with everything.

You should start a build thread.

Yes plenty of home work, but there is many views on so much of the renesis, especially the apex seals, I have the atkins apex seals and standard apex seals (which I will be using), I looked at the SCR seals as recommended to me by mate (has them in his 20B RX4 coupe) I also looked at the PTS seals but I contacted Ric Shaw and he said he used to use them but now uses something better, he wouldn't tell me what they were though, I did look at the ceramic seals but their $1800 or so price was not within my budget.

Looking at big $$$ when you go through the Extreme Rotaries website :( certainly some impressive work.
