To Sell or not to sell

Post by 5p3nc3 » Sun Jun 05, 2016 11:46 am

So this happened:
Image

Now I can't keep both the Rx8 and my FD Rx7 so one has to go.

How much do you guys think I should list her for?

The good:
2005
93k km
R Magic front bumper
Mazda appearance skirts and rear pods
Tein mono flex coilovers
Ric Shaw sways
Rotary aviation OMP adapter and oil tank
Flo racing 50mm radiator
AEM intake
BHR coils
Mazda speed strut tower bar
DBA 5000xs front rotors
GT Recaro s
Axial flow short shifter
Pokeball gear shifter
Rx8performance.Com twin oil coolers
Rx8performance.Com fan control kit
REmedy water pump
REmedy thermostat
REmedy oil pressure regulator
Autoexe steering wheel
Autoexe endlinks
Racing beat gauge pod
Airpump deleted
Exhaust technologies 100cel midpipe
Turbo xs cat back
Optima Yellow top battery
EBC redstuff pads
Project mu hc800 pads (new not installed yet)
SS brake and clutch lines
Recently replaced cooling fans and coolant tank + sensor

The bad and the ugly:
-My dogs think they are mountain goats or something so there are alot of scratches over the car with some heavy ones on the drivers side fender
- a small 20 cent piece sized bit of missing fabric on the drivers side Recaro bolster.
-CEL for the vacant airpump.

All these Mods have cost me around $12,000 over the 6 years that I've owned her. I know I will not get anything close to that for them.

Now, Redbook has the rx8 valued at between $7,000-$10,000

So I'm wondering if I should try sell her as is for around $12 grand
Or
Revert back to stock (still have majority of the parts) and sell for $8,000 and try make up the rest through a part out

Another question is do I try sell in darwin where there isn't much of a following or wait till the end of the year when I move back to sydney where there are more enthusiasts?

I just don't want my pride and joy to go to waste

First of all congrats.

Secondly I would wait for NSW

Part out is going to be more work in the long run, and take a look at the FS section here. Things can stay with you for a long time. Are you prepared to still be trying to sell parts 12 months after the car has left your possession?

Such great news Scott. Send my love to my now Ex girlfriend as well.

I would sell down here. Very small consumer base in Darwin. I would revert majority back to stock, sell off the mods for a small profit over how it sits now. 10g for car and about 4g for mods wouldnt be hard to get. This way I can also buy the AEM intake from you.

Detailing is an art, a gift and a curse. Use it wisely
Fellow Rotor fans gather now for our daily prayer.....

As I lay rubber down the street,
I pray for traction I can keep,
But if I spin and start to slide,
Please dear god protect my sweet ride.

Amen
