Automotive Service Providers

Post by absolutewankel » Fri Jan 25, 2013 3:44 pm

I did a search to see if this had been covered or not but I couldn't find anything so I thought I would start a new thread. I'm thinking it might be a good idea to start a topic where Adelaideans can list automotive service providers (mechanics, auto electricians, exhaust companies, audio/sound, performance, etc) that they have used and make recommendations on their levels of service, value for money, ability, etc. This will be useful for other (new) members should they wish to do work on their cars. Hopefully we can form a single topic directory based on member recommendations. I'll start....

Instant Windscreens - Edwardstown. Got my windows tinted last week, great service & good value for money. Comes with lifetime warranty.

I've also got the car booked in for a service next week so will comment on that afterwards too.

OK, so I had my car booked in with a mechanic last week but then I chickened out. I called the Mildrens number (cos they are 3 minutes away from my work) and someone picked up and took my booking and told me the new address.

Later that afternoon I dorve past to confirm the location and there was nowhere called "Mildrens" I called back the next morning to confirm and they said they were trading under a different name. I asked if they still specialise in rotaries and was told yeah - we have someone here who can do that sorta stuff.

Needless to say, the 8 never made it there.

I now have the beast booked in with REVS instead on recommendation from this forum. Can wait to get the run down from Jase as to what we can do to her...

So, I got the car back from Jase at Revs. Apparently I bought a winner. Compression test came back with really good figures.

Service from Revs is great and apart from the fact it takes me an hour to get out there - def worth it.

Yep, thats my beast. Hopefully someone here understands those numbers!!

No blue car - two black ones and his silver one plus half a dozen RX7s.

Was told he would be acquiring some engine management software soon so will be keen to get some stuff done to my car around this. Also he is pretty keen to become the first mechanic to specialise in the 16X if/when Mazda ever release it.

If that happens, hopefully my 8 will be the first one with it in.

Can I ask how much revs charged for a comp test? Also my car is the silver one below :)

Top bloke, awesome that he's getting so much business, I've been watching a few of his YouTube videos about his workshop and pass projects

The number show PSI on 3 rotor faces of a rotor at 320 rpm. They aren't to bad at all. You need to go the FAQ thread and compare it to the Mazda chart. I little birdy told me Jas is looking at MazdaEdit.
