Trying to decide on new exhaust

Post by Nathan1066 » Sat Jun 15, 2013 7:32 pm

Hi all :)

I have been searching the threads and reading about everyone's different exhausts.

It seems that Exhaust Technologies is the place to go in Adelaide and that they do a great Magnaflow system.

Has anyone ever done a straight pipe from the cat back? If they have I would like to hear what it sounds like so I can decide what to do.

With that said I would also like to catch up with a few other 8 owners and say hello and get some ideas on different mods :)

Cheers from Nathan :)

Catback definitely worth the $$$. Not sure about the midpipe - I think it may be a bit pricey at $600 whereas racing beat catless midpipe was quoted at $450 delivered.

I am going catless in the future and I too can't decide

That is not a bad price. Just had a look at the site for the first time.

I could do some VISA card damage on there I think lol

They are the best for rx8. A lot of videos on YouTube.

Bhr midpipe is also very popular on rx8club.com

Come down to see us at ET and we can show you the quality of our system. Many happy customers on this forum with our products.

I have had a straight pipe on mine before, not advised unless track only. Ridiculously loud.

In fact, here's a video of mine with straight pipe.

I think that I just may do that :)

I have been listening to heaps of clips of straight pipes and you are right... Sounds great but is very loud...

Ask to speak to Marky and advise him you were referred on the forum by hellaflush if I am not there :)

And yes... straight pipe is extremely loud... I only ran like that for 24 hours luckily... lots of pissed off motorists haha

Another option. I love it, but get the silence option. And get it off ebay! Came in under two weeks

The Titan sounds pretty good.

Hellaflush I will pop down tomorrow or sometime this week to have a look.

The 8 goes in for it's 1000km service on Wednesday (New motor) so will probably not be on that day.

Cheers for everyone's advice and help :)
