Hey Guys,

Just checking in to add another ACT Member to the list.

I dunno if it is too late, however I would be keen to at least come up and take a look-see this Saturday at Wakefield (unfortunately due to work and timings I wasn't able to get organised enough to be totally involved this time round).

Anyway either way, everyone drive safely and have a great time, we will catch up next time at a coffee/drive weekend.

I second Vanq's greeting. Also, if you come down early enough you may be able to get a place on the track.

There's still time. If you can't make it tonight, come up tomorrow morning and ask for Tim (Timbo) or Dave (Revolver)

Hi All,

I have just bought a second hand 2009 RX-8 FE series 2. Before buying it I found this board and read through alot of stuff on the RX-8. But now I have bought it, I thought I should join up and say hi, and say thanks for having so much good info on the RX-8.

Welcome.
There is a big meet up in Canberra next Saturday. There are 8s coming from Sydney, Wollongong & Wagga. Come along & join us.

Hello folks,
Another newbie joins the ranks :-)
I actually picked up my 04 Velocity Red from the dealer on May 30, but due to several weeks of warranty issues have really only had the car for 3 weeks.
I got hold of the job cards and receipts which showed the dealer put over eight grand's worth of parts and labour into my car. Ouch! and Phew!
Got to love warranty!
Now that it's home and the sick feeling has gone from the pit of the stomach I absolutely love this car.
No other car has had me taking a midnight drive in subzero Canberra winter weather just for the hell of it :-)
Who cares that it's a tad thirsty? Does anybody buy this car expecting miserly fuel consumption?

See you on the road, and if you see a red RX8 with some bloke with a silly grin giving you the thumbs up......just humor him/me, he's just never grown up ;-)

Welcome 'Runs with Scissors'. I'll keep an eye out for a driver of a VR RX8 with a silly grin, but they all seem to have it :D See you at our next get together.

Cheers

Thanx for the welcome :-)
When is the next get-together?

Here's a list of the warranty bits;
Post-cat O2 sensor,
Shutter valve (?!),
Coolant subtank & sensor,
Both fuel level sensors,
Coil pack,
Battery,
Catalytic converter,
Coolant x2,
and a ship load of labour from the Mazda dealership.
I think it might be a while before that dealer carries any RX-8s again :-)

G,day all,

The child bride went looking down Melrose Drive for a new car. Wandered into Slaven Mazda, and decided the MX5 wouldn't carry the groceries home. Eldest son then directed her to the RX8, explaining that it did have 4 seats.

Long story short, we now have a white GT.

Only gets out on weekends, as the potential for damage in car parks is well known.

This thing is bloody magnificent! I'm pretty switched on car wise, but it has been many a year since I have enjoyed driving as much.

Look out for the triple 7.

Clive
