Today my RX8 out of nowhere at the lights almost completely stopped allowing me to select first gear from a standing start and 2nd and 3rd gears sort of grind into gear. 1st crunches like the clutch isn't properly depressed (when fully depressed).
Noob question of the day... is this an indication of my clutch being worn out or a gearbox issue?

Check ur clutch master and slave cylinder.
Sounds like it may have a pressure issue.
I have an 07 and just recently got breaks and clutch fluid changed as clutch was a bit spongy.
It feels totally different now as probably never changed by previous owner for the clutch, ive only done the breaks a couple of times. Make sure the slave cylinder gets bled through. Good luck and hope it's only needing new fluid.

Matt13b if you are replacing your clutch you can pickup the blackhalo lightweight flywheel on the weekend.
