Melbourne - need workshop recommendations

Post by braap » Tue Oct 03, 2017 9:23 pm

Hi all,
I need some advice on what to do... It looks like I've done the coolant seal on a series 1 rx8, can anyone recommend me a decent workshop in Melbourne for a rebuild, and rough guess at prices I'd be looking at? I'm in the West, (point cook). Would love to do a build myself but I'm not sure I'd have enough free time with work commitments to get it done in a reasonable timeframe, and want this one to last as it is my daily... Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Part of me is thinking to cut losses and sell it as is but it has been such a fun car and the idea of a street port daily driver would be sweet.
Thanks in advance!

Ed

Tim from RX8 specialties in Frankston managed the rebuild on my car, took some time tho. Results were worth it

A lot :)..

I went all out, so might not be the best comparison, but over $10k.

Best to chat with Tim, he'll explain the usual, hard to quote for sure without pulling down the engine, but a conservative build should be sub $10k, especially if engine parts are salvageable
