I've been looking at installing a SOHN Adapter system off eBay for my car. The kit I've been looking at says that you need to buy a new oil metering pump. I'm getting mixed messages on the need for a new oil metering pump.

Has anyone else installed one of these? If so, did you get a new oil pump?

Nope, I just put the SOHN on with the original OMP

Hey Drifill, did you buy one of the kits off eBay? They description says you must have the oil metering pump adapter.

Nope, I got mine directly from rotary aviation. I can't see why you'd need a new OMP, I'm pretty sure hundreds of other people have them and installed the same as I have (ie reusing the original OMP)

Thanks mate! Any chance you can upload some photos of how your piping was laid out?

I'll get some for you soon, but in brief, I used a fuel tank for a 49cc quad bike as my reservoir, it's simply cable tied to the brake fluid reservoir and a hose going from the outlet at the bottom of the 'fuel' tank down along the chassis rail and 'looping' around 180degrees (wide radius to avoid kinks in the hose) to connect up to the inlet adaptor on the SOHN, with a couple of hose clamps to keep everything sealed nicely..

It was ment to be a temporary solution, but still going strong almost 2 years on haha..

I am however planning on changing it around very much similar to how @MazMorbid has his set up, I just need the right tank ;)

Thanks drifill I can't wait to see your photos. Good idea using a fuel tank. I'm wondering if I should put a basic oil filter on to oil line.

The red coolant hoses don't exactly make it easy to see the SOHN hose

For mine, I ordered a 2L catch can off eBay and tapped the drain bolt to install a barb fitting to feed the adapter via oil suitible hose.

It's installed in place of the airpump, zip tied to the airpump bracket.
