I've the same problem and my car has extended warranty but when i took it to mazda yesterday they said that its not covered under warranty and i would need to change the whole taillight which would cost me around $420 :x

I'm not very good at DIY so is there any other way i could get this fixed?? I dont mind taking it to any general repairs but i dont want pay so much just to get the fog out :|

how about red tint on rx8 taillights.. can hide the fogs lol

Image

im really digging this but TKO tinting in vic park cant do it because they said they cant apply the tint to suit the mould.. they recommended me to get some light spray at panel shops... but Im sure there is a way around it..

u dont need a whole tail light. just the gasket...or rubber/foam seal. u can make your own if u dont want to buy the one from mazda which will do the same thing in the future... just use the old one as a template and cut it out.

Does anyone know about the legality of tail light tinting? Max % you can go without running foul of some power-tripping highway patrol copper?

Pretty sure its illegal to tint lights full stop. You may get away with a small amount.
