Fuel Consumption Pt 2

Re: Fuel Consumption Pt 2
I get 400 - 450km with a decent thrash and some highway driving. Worst I got was 300km with short drives. Wow 200 sucks, are all Rew engines like that?
Re: Fuel Consumption Pt 2
The starts and stops in the Rotary are what kill its consumption. But great on cruise. Hence they're liked in planes. I could get 500k to a tank sitting on 110km/h easy. I could barely get 300 in city driving. City/Freeway cycles make a huge difference.

Re: Fuel Consumption Pt 2
+1 for me. When I was living closer to the city, with only VERY short trips in the car, i was getting around 30L/100kms.
Now that I'm a bit further out, more motorway driving, its sitting around 17

Re: Fuel Consumption Pt 2
No the REW was similar in consumption to the Renesis prior to Bridgeport and larger single turbo set-up.Txateu wrote:I get 400 - 450km with a decent thrash and some highway driving. Worst I got was 300km with short drives. Wow 200 sucks, are all Rew engines like that?
It uses twice the fuel but that is for nearly twice the power.
More power=more petrol combusting.
Re: Fuel Consumption Pt 2
That makes sense but ive never considered it before. Would my habit of "coasting" when in slow traffic and down hills in an attempt to be mechanically sympathetic to the car actually be contributing to my already terrible fuel consumption?zoom wrote:The starts and stops in the Rotary are what kill its consumption. I got the habit from the bridgeport car that lurches and chugs along like it's having a fit at low speeds.

Re: Fuel Consumption Pt 2
it all depends on what injectors you are running ,mine has oversize secondary injectors that are 1550cc to suit the amount of boost and revs that i am looking at getting it tuned too, just awaiting the for the mechanic to sort out my ecu ,it has reached its reflash limit. So mine will have very bad fuel consumption but heaps off power!! The power curve drops around 9500 rpm, red lines 10000rpm!! The buzzer still goes off but it tells me it fun time.
Re: Fuel Consumption Pt 2
What tuning method are you using?
Should take a while to reach the 100 flash limit, tho with some softwares, there is no limit

Re: Fuel Consumption Pt 2
I'm using versatune to play with my ecu.
Re: Fuel Consumption Pt 2
Ah ok, I'd have thought with all the talk (by versatune) about how good the(ir) software is, they'd have at least bypassed the flash limit..
It's been a non issue for MazdaEdit since I got my copy, so roughly 3~4 years ago.
