The winner, if there is such a thing in track days is the person with the best time. You get plenty of lap times and you will improve during the day.

The etiquite is to yield to faster drivers on the straight so everyone can carry on with chasing thier best times.

This is not a race.

Okay everyone, we are all go!

Now Lakeside Raceway is on Lakeside Road, Kurwongbah QLD 4503.

Paul Ruzic (from Time Attack) advises that he usually holds the Compulsory Briefing about 8:30am (but it can at times be as late as 9:00am). Paul will be at the track from about 7:30am. But just remember, if you do not attend the Compulsory Briefing then there is no track attendance for you.

I will probably arrive just before 7:30am. Also remember / note that there are several things for you to do before the briefing. So it is a good idea not to be too late. These include:

- sign the track paperwork and disclaimer forms;
- apply for a ASAA Licence (if you do not have one);
- hire a transponder for electronic timing (if you do not already have one that is used at QR and Lakeside);
- prepare your car (i.e. removing all loose unwanted items, and undertake any final mechanical and set up checks).

One thing I see not everybody does in the past, which they should, is to fit a Tow Hook (front and back). They will not wait for you to fit the hook later if the occasion later requires. It is quick and easy to do, and we can show you on the day if you have not done this before.

Here is a link again to the Time Attack rules: http://www.timeattack.com.au/content/view/23/125/

See you all there! :)

Cliffo, there are numerous shopping options around, and a range of prices and quality. Personally, I got mine from here (which is a shop in Springwood): http://www.revolutionracegear.com.au/in ... ?MMID=1487

The tow hook is next to the licenceplate so you should be ok (I assume)
If this is your 1st time all I can say is let the tires and brakes warm up for the full 1st lap of each race at least :) and learn your and your cars limits, slowly. Lakeside is literaly unforgiving
better safe than sorry ;)

If is your first time then take it easy especially during the first run. Then you can go faster as you learn the lines and the limit of your and the cars ability. A lot of first timers crash in the second run as they think they have mastered the track after one go. This is a very technical track and is unforgiving if a mistake is made.

I have gone off twice and luckily it was at the end of the front straight and at hungry corner and these are the only run offs. Both times was due to the car in front of me having a spin and I had to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

The popular areas for crashes is under the bridge, hungry corner, entry to the main straight and the end of the main straight.
