hehe

I think Motor magazine said the new GTR costs about $10K a year in services and parts if you do one or two track days a year. This is primarily due to the tyres and brakes needing replacement :!:

I guess you've got to take the good with the bad

to those that change oil and filter themselves... Mazda Rotary Oil is expensive! over $100 at Mazda dealer.
is there anywhere that sells MRO at a reasonable price?

Thanks :)

For those who get their car serviced at the dealers, do you go to Belo or Woden?

Wouldn't say he is happy with them though

I've been going to Woden, generally a good experience over the last 5 years. But it's all getting a bit hard for them. I'm getting too far from norm; lowered, big wheels, sway bars, cold air induction, hiflow cat and ss exhaust. (not a massively mod list) But it’s to blame for any warning light or question I have.

Time to head to Reliance for the 60k service. My last 5 cars went there for tlc.

Yeah I'm not sure whether to stick with Belco or move across to Woden?! I don't know if it even matters?!

I think it comes down to which ever is handy. I've read sad/frustrating stories caused by both dealers.

Reliance. Used Slaven Motors in Phillip (ie. Woden) for 4 years and I think I used Rolfe Mazda in Belconnen once or twice as well.
I personally started to feel my car was being rushed by little things happening such as dirty marks on the interior, the dipstick getting bent and the radiator fluid not being filled up properly after a new bottle/sensor was installed. When explaining problems with the car such as rattles I would be discussing it with what looked like kids not old enough to even work on cars and rarely got the rattles fixed

Reliance is around the same price but there's peace of mind knowing it will be done once and done properly. They have access to the Mazda firmware updates which was my only concern when choosing them 8)

In hindsight, I should have switched to Reliance during the warranty period instead of waiting until it finished

Tell Jon/Michael at Reliance that I sent you

I too have had my 8 serviced at Reliance since I got it. They are after all rotary specialists.

Don't know how much good it will do you if you say Will sent you tho

Ok got quoted $450 (including all oils and tyre rotating etc) for the 40K service.

How does that sound?!

Was going to say it sounded a bit expensive but decided to check what I paid first...

28 February 2006: $440.55 at Slaven Motors

Therefore, with inflation, I actually say you're in front

Awesome - well Slaven quoted me something like $360-400 based on last years prices. So that doesn't quite add up if you paid $440 much 3 years ago.

Prob just stick with where I always get it done (Rolfe) - and I need the loan car anyway.
