2015 Rx8 Nationals ?
so, what's happening with next years nationals ?
Re: 2015 Rx8 Nationals ?
That's a very good question.
I really don't fancy organizing it again, I did it for 3 years & feel someone else needs to inject some new enthusiasm into it.
I have all the contact & entrants details from previous years that I can pass on to anyone who's interested. I also have a complete set of race numbers for use next year, as well.
The only problem could be with Wakefield Park after last years money shortfall.
If anyone wants to give it a go just PM me.

Re: 2015 Rx8 Nationals ?
Yea that's fair enough, I don't think Wakefield would have us back unless we could pay in full several weeks beforehand.
Is there any money left in the kitty or was it all used last year as we were short on $$ ?

Re: 2015 Rx8 Nationals ?
A combined ticket with another event / club is probably the go. The Seven's Day could be a good joint ticket, as they had quite few spare spots this year.

It's an exciting thing thinking about having the 8 around a track..I think I'd quickly find out how much more I've got to learn about true spirited driving!

Good idea, as long as the other club is will to give us a decent allocation entrants wise.Prime wrote:A combined ticket with another event / club is probably the go. The Seven's Day could be a good joint ticket, as they had quite few spare spots this year.

Kev, I think they had about 15 or more spots left unfilled in 2014. I can at least ask the question if you like mate (i.e. via the FDRX7 Forum)? It was 'davebro' (i.e. Dave) who was one of the organisers for the Sevens Day. He also attended our Nationals event this year, and posted on our 2014 Nationals thread.

Yep I know who he is, I had a quick chat to when he was having the brake issues.
Have a chat to him and see what his thoughts are

Re: 2015 Rx8 Nationals ?
Would be keen for this again next year, although I sold my rx8 would definitely come down in my fd. Even trying to combine it as a rotary trackday via other forums might have some luck.
Re: 2015 Rx8 Nationals ?
I think I can provide some useful information here.
I am the new President of the Rotary Enthusiasts of NSW.
We requested our usual booking for Wakefield Park Raceway for 2015 and have been allocated Sunday, 12th July. We are working hard behind the scenes to make this a huge event. We are considering the possibilty of changing the name of the event from "7's day" to make it clearer to all that this event is aimed towards all rotary enthusiasts and not just RX-7's (which has always been the case).
Consequently we invite members of this forum to participate at this event as fellow rotary owners and consider becoming members of our club, we have many members with RX-8's and would love some more!
Event updates, membership forms and answers to commonly asked questions will be found on our website in due course: www.rotaryenthusiasts.com or our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/#!/RenewRotary
Additionally, I can provide more details as they come to hand on this forum if desired.
Regards
Don

Re: 2015 Rx8 Nationals ?
Hi Don
Having helped organize the last 3 RX8 Nationals I know that a joint club event is the way forward. The help we got from participating RENEW members in 2012 & 2013 proved the difference to us getting a fully subscribed field.
I spectated last years 7's day, as it was the day after the RX8 Nationals, & whilst you had slightly more entrants than us it still looked as if you were also under subscribed.
One thing to bear in mind though is RX8 Club.com.au is a free internet forum with no membership fees or additional car requirements over "road legal"
That said I see no real impediment to our 2 clubs participating together in the future.

What about booking some space on a Tamped Motorsports day at Winton. I have seen lots of clubs do this. They allocate your group private sessions separate to everyone else. You get timing gear it is reasonably priced and you can get an aasa license on the day.

Re: 2015 Rx8 Nationals ?
The reality is that Wakefield is the best location for the Rx8 nationals and judging by the poll results we will not have sufficient numbers to hold the nationals on our own.
Combining with RENEW seems to be the best option at this stage.

Is not a problem is a necessity. Engines need lubrication and the Rotary is no different. Work's differently to a conventional engine.
