A wink isnt an answer, details or scepticism will be forthcoming.

Well its up to you if you beleive me or not. It doesn't worry me either way. However the figures are correct and from a reliable source.

It would be very easy for you to verify the total sales figures.

I could call Mazda and get it absolutely. I could ask either of the dealer owners I know to, or their principals. Hence the reason your covert/espionage comment makes me laugh. I used to have a link to a Mazda site that they published but it doesn't exist anymore.

Ps: those figures make roughly 80/90 GTs sold per year. Is it just me or are others wondering where they all are? I haven't seen 1 in over 12 months.

Thats fine. I don't really care if you don't beleive me. Go and call Mazda and your dealer friends. When you do though make sure you post your figures on here and we will see who is laughing then.

Make sure they have access to Vfacts though, which I doubt your dealer friends will.

Well Zoom asked how many GT's had been sold and I have given him the figures. If he doesn't beleive me then that is up to him.

In 2009 there were 404 RX8's sold. In 2010 there were 238 sold. YTD (June) this year there have only been 48 RX8's sold. See then trend in sales?

40% of series 2 RX8's for sale on Carpoint are GT's. I don't see what is so hard to beleive personally.

Tentacle P, do any of the 4 near you want to sell their wheels?

Thanks for the link. It looks as though they have been resprayed though haven't they?

It seems as though you get these rims from the US cheaper than from Japan. Just got to find a set on the right (left) side of the country but buying from a private seller in another country worries me.

Just Picked a set up from U.S. - Re: RX8 GT wheels

They are out there, just purchased from the Rotrary Innovations ebay store
for $1500 U.S. plus $375 U.S. for freight. Not too concerned about the
customs speedhump, for what they cost here. Will wrap them in Bridgestone
S001's after cleaning, touch-up, and sealing. Next looking to get coilovers
for summer, just not decided on which ones.

Pretty good price all things considered! I hope customs doesn't nab you on the way in :)

Naddis - With almost 14 months past since your trek began, with declining RX8 sales (especially GTs), maybe should just bite the bullet and go the U.S. option.

Nearly all who bought the GT car did so because they preferred the GT look over the Luxury model. So your market for those looking to change their rims is 'much smaller' than you believe, if you really think about it.

He's clearly not thinking about it. I wanted the gt wheels.. I thought about it. For the price I could have gotten MUCH better. Genuine Mazda doesn't mean shit to me, only thing is weight and look.. So after about 3months I gave up and gotten something else. They aren't made of gold (even if they were I hate gold) and you can get lighter, stronger wheels that look better for less. I am talking 2nd hand here since we all know how much Mazda wants for them new lol. Give me that much and il design/make you 3-piece press-forged/machined wheels of ANY design, in reasonable OD (16-20), width and offset ;)
